In this two part blog post series, I want to talk about the insights from the career discovery panel which are: Encouragement, Failure, Changes, Drives and Sacrifices. I will expound on each theme respectively.
Encouragement is the act of giving someone support, confidence or hope.
” The best revenge for failure is massive success”
The statement mentioned earlier speaks for itself, many will see you heading towards your goals and have negative things to say. Always remember that through negativity comes great power as this encourages us to push harder to get to where we need to be (sometimes a negative response gives positive encouragements, if your positive minded). As we aim to tell ourselves that it’s not what you think of me but what I think of myself.
Failure is the state or condition of not meeting a desirable or intended objective and may be viewed as the opposite of success.
No great man or woman got to where they are in one day. They had to set goals and expectations and in setting these somewhere down the line, failure snuck in whether at the beginning, middle or close to the end. But this seven letter word became a stepping stone, a push to get the greater things in life. Failure in this life is inevitable. You have to fail in order to succeed and the more you fail the more you learn as experience teaches wisdom.
Change is an act or process through which something becomes different.
Without change there is no progress, if Marcus Mosiah Garvey among others did not fight for a change we would be stuck in bondage and have no free will to become the people we aim to be on a daily basis. Change is all in a matter of time and in the people who we look forward to for development, security, empowerment and growth. It is important to embrace change as new things surface everyday and it creates new opportunities and chances for us to be successful in our daily decision making.
The drive is an innate, biologically determined urge to attain a goal or satisfy a need.
The drive for success is setting out a plan to get to the end game. Some people need physical motivation while others are just born with the spirit given to push forward no matter the obstacles ahead. This is a strong indication of persistence, sustained effort and accomplishing what one sets out to achieve. Having a drive does not necessarily mean that it is your passion, as a drive is used to ensure the matters of life are covered under all aspects and by all means.
Sacrifices is the act of giving up (something valued) for the sake of other considerations.
Coated from The Holy Bible John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but, have everlasting life.”
Sacrifice is an action that few people consider because the trade-offs usually leads to unhappiness for a period of time. It takes a great deal of love for another person to understand what sacrifice means. Sacrifice is nothing other than the production of scared things which later turns into greatness. I have learned that sometimes when we sacrifice something precious, you can actually look at sacrifice as just passing on something valuable to someone who needs it more than you do. In this life, everyone has to sacrifice something they cherish or love.
